Allina Health has reached a significant milestone after years of planning and investment transforming how we provide care. Completion of the Richard M. Schulze Surgical and Critical Care Center on the Abbott Northwestern Hospital campus is a facility that will drive innovation, expand access, and serve our communities for decades to come. The next era of care has arrived, and we are eager to begin serving our community in this remarkable facility with significant technological advancements and expanded critical care capabilities.
As we celebrate this milestone, we recognize that care happens in moments both big and small across our system every day. In each interaction, our more than 27,000 care team members and 6,700 physicians and advanced practice providers bring our All Together Better promise to life through their talent, commitment, and care. TJ has a heart full of gratitude
TJ went in for a routine colonoscopy after experiencing minor symptoms and learned he had stage 3C rectal cancer. With the support of his Allina Health Cancer Institute care team, TJ achieved a complete clinical response to treatment — allowing him to avoid major surgery.

Nikka is thriving on the other side
Triple-negative breast cancer is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer, and Nikka’s case was made even more challenging because she had previously experienced heart failure. Nikka was enrolled in the SCARLET clinical trial, which used de-escalated chemotherapy coupled with immunotherapy to treat her cancer.

Kathy is rediscovering the joy in living
Kathy says the Hedberg Survivorship Program at Allina Health makes you feel like a whole person again. As a spinal cord tumor survivor, the program is a one-stop shop for Kathy’s medical needs, allowing her to meet with multiple specialists in a single appointment.
